Hi, it's so nice to meet you!
I'm Alexis Bonsall I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband and 3 kiddos who are 7, 4.5, and 15 months old.
I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016 and have been a stay-at-mom since my oldest was a baby.
As a Parent Coach I'm so grateful to provide the support that I desperately searched and needed while trying to parent.
I first came across this radical type of parenting when my first was a little baby. I devoured Janet Lansbury’s books and I also had my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I had learned reflective listening and accepting all emotions and I thought I would be the perfect parent.
They say everyone has a child that cracks them open and shows them all of their childhood wounds. Children are like mirrors and my first born was mine. No parenting book, article, or podcast I could devour would help me enough when she was melting down and I would feel so triggered and overwhelmed, and then have my own adult tantrum.
I would sit in my cycle of shame as I would berate myself. It wasn’t until I was so trapped under my anxiety that I thought to myself I need to figure out how to stay calm enough to use all of these strategies.
I wish it didn't take me as long to figure out what I needed to shift my family.
Now, there is patience and fun. There is trust and consistency.
We are creating the family we want every single day.
Every single day I commit to being a peaceful, respectful parent.
Now, we're on the side where it’s still hard, but it doesn’t have to be THAT hard. The side where parents deserve all the support in the world to heal themselves so they can show up to be the best parents they are meant to be.
I can’t wait to walk alongside you on your journey to becoming the best parent you’re meant to be.
